2. Lake Catani Mount Buffalo National Park
Perfect for: families, lakeside fun, cool mountain air. Set in alpine bushland with walking trails and a beautiful lake to swim or kayak in. Book early its popular for good reason!
3. Sheepyard Flat Howqua Hills Historic Area
Perfect for: riverside camping, 4WD adventures, fishing Free, pet-friendly, and nestled alongside the Howqua River. Great for hiking and trout fishing, and easy access for camper trailers.
4. Tidal River Wilsons Promontory
Perfect for: wildlife, beach walks, and iconic scenery this ones a classic. Wombats, beaches, and crystal-clear water. Full facilities and loads of walking tracks. Youll fall in love with The Prom.
5. Mount Franklin Reserve Near Daylesford
Perfect for: beginner campers, quick weekenders. A quiet, shady spot inside an extinct volcano crater. Free to camp, with toilets and fire pits. Just 10 minutes from Daylesford for a sneaky cafe stop.
Tip: Dont forget to check local fire bans and book sites ahead where needed. Some fill up fast,
especially long weekends.
